Henderson molybdenum mine heavy truck uphill flat development example
The Henderson Molybdenum Mine is a large-scale mine that was completed and put into operation in the United States in the 1970s. It is a mining and mining enterprise with a daily output of 27,000 tons of ore.
The deposit has a length of 900m, a thickness of 120-240m, and an average grade of MoS 2 of 0.49%.
Mining terrain, due to large-scale beneficiation plant, there is not enough industrial sites near the mine, processing plant had built in place across the Atlantic from the Pacific watershed of mine 22.5km. The elevation of the plant is 2,743m, and the elevation of the main flat shaft is 2,286m, so it can only be transported uphill by Changping.
The main flat ore transport layer considers two options: one is rail transport; the other is belt conveyor transport. Compared with the scheme, the latter has a transportation cost higher than the former by US$0.02/ton; and an underground crushing and dust removal device is required; the flat section has a large section, and in addition to the steel rope conveyor, the auxiliary vehicle is also required. It was therefore decided to use rail transport. A double track with a gauge of 1040 mm is laid in the flat. It is 5m wide, 4.6m high and 15.8km long (Fig. 1).

A total of three shafts were drilled in the mine. Well No. 1 was an outflow well, and No. 3 was an inlet well with an internal diameter of 7 m. Both wells were drilled to a level of 2469m, with a depth of 744m and 698m respectively. Well 2 is used to upgrade personnel, equipment and materials. The net diameter of the wellbore is 8.5m and the depth of the well is 946m. Connected with the 2286m main level. There are 114-person double-layer cages in the wellbore and a large cage with a load of 20t and a bottom area of ​​7.3×2.7m for lifting large-scale equipment such as dump trucks and scrapers. Both cages are equipped with counterweights. There is also a small cage for wellbore maintenance. Each stage is connected by a ramp.

The main level boring is divided into two working faces to perform relative operations. The west section is 11km long and is driven downhill from the surface to the east with trackless equipment. The eastern section is 4.8km long and is used to dig up the west uphill with rail equipment.

Due to the high ground temperature (37°~42°C), in order to improve the ventilation conditions, a No. 4 well with a diameter of 4.3m and a depth of 483m was drilled in the middle of the main flat, and two 370kw fan fans were installed at the wellhead.
